Barrier washers and the RABC method: the essentials for a clinic

In a clinic or hospital, linen can carry micro-organisms from one patient to another. The RABC method, for risk analysis and biocontamination control, organises the laundry to prevent this.
The principle: two separate zones
The laundry is divided into a soiled side, where used linen arrives, and a clean side, from which processed linen leaves. The two do not communicate: neither linen, trolleys nor staff move from one to the other without precautions.
The barrier washer
The barrier washer is installed in the wall separating the two zones. It is loaded on the soiled side and unloaded on the clean side, through a second door. Linen never goes back.
- Programmes and temperatures suited to hospital linen.
- Separate trolleys for soiled and clean linen.
- Dryers and an ironer placed on the clean side.
Train the teams
Equipment is not enough: respecting the linen flow depends on the operators. IWIN trains your teams in your facility and studies the layout of both zones with you before proposing equipment.
