Opening a self-service laundromat in Morocco: the key steps

Stacked dryers for a self-service laundromat in Morocco

Self-service laundromats are developing in Moroccan cities, near student districts, residences and tourist areas. It is an investment that has to run every day, without constant supervision.

1. Choose the location

Footfall, parking and the neighbourhood’s customers matter as much as the rent. The premises must also offer the necessary connections: water, drainage, electricity, and gas if the dryers need it.

2. Size the machine fleet

The number and capacity of machines depend on the floor area and expected traffic. Stacked units make the most of the space, and a few high-capacity machines handle duvets and bulky items.

3. Choose the payment system

  • A coin box on each machine.
  • Card or electronic payment.
  • A central payment station for the whole laundromat.

4. Plan the maintenance

A machine out of order is a customer who goes to a competitor. A maintenance contract and quickly available parts limit downtime.

IWIN supports you from the project study to the opening, and then throughout operation, with spare parts available in Morocco.
