What a flatwork ironer does

A flatwork ironer dries and irons flat linen in a single pass between a heated roller and ironing belts. Linen comes out ready to fold.

• The working width, according to the size of the sheets processed.
• The number of rollers, which determines the throughput.
• The heating type: electric, gas or steam.
• The space available, including for feeding and receiving linen.

Around the ironer

In high-volume laundries, a feeder supplies the ironer and a folder receives the linen at the exit. Together they form a finishing line that works continuously.
